“Because classical music is an unbroken, living tradition that goes back over 1,000 years. And every one of those years has had something unique and powerful to say to us about what it’s like to be alive.”
—Michael Tilson Thomas
I began studying music as a child because I found that making an inanimate object sing was absolutely thrilling. Thirty years later, I continue in classical music because it is where I find my sense of connection to humanity. Through my work as a teacher, I seek to open a door for my students in the hopes that, if they choose to enter, they will find the same great joy that I have been privileged to have as a musician.
